Honoring 29 Years of Pastoral Service at the Historic 147-Year-Old Prairie Grove Baptist Church
"Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
— Esther 4:14
Some stories are not meant to stay on the page—they are destined to take the stage and stir the souls of the community.
In December 2026, we are bringing a powerful, three-hour, two-segment theatrical production to life: "The Women of the Bible." But the stage we stand on carries a legacy that began nearly a century and a half ago.
Hallowed Ground: The Prairie Grove Legacy
Prairie Grove Baptist Church is 147 years old. It was founded on ground purchased by emancipated pioneers Cicero and Jeraldine Chambers—men and women who carried faith through trials and built a spiritual sanctuary for generations they would never see.
Today, that torch is carried by Reverend W.R. Byrd, who is celebrating 29 remarkable years of faithful pastoral service to our congregation and community.
A Call for Voices, Grace, and Courage:
As a member of Prairie Grove, second-year Chairperson for the Pastor’s Anniversary, and Founder of the Friend-Raiser Committee, my heart is to make this milestone an unforgettable experience.
We are officially opening our CASTING CALL for "The Women of the Bible" stage production!
We are seeking passionate actors, vocalists, and behind-the-scenes creatives who are ready to embody the strength, sacrifice, and triumphs of biblical matriarchs:
• Women of Wisdom & Strategy (Deborah, Esther)
• Women of Faith Through Sorrow (Hannah, Ruth, Naomi)
• Women of Bold Praise & Sacrifice (Mary, Miriam)
Whether you are a seasoned theater artist or taking your first step onto the stage, your voice has a place in this sacred celebration.
Why This Production Matters:
This event is more than a theatrical play—it is a Friend-Raiser campaign to unite churches, community leaders, and families across Texas in fellowship, honoring our shepherds and celebrating the resilient women who anchor our faith.
